It was summer holidays for the children and they were all bored as to what to do and they told me that they did not have any game to play and asked me to suggest some game for them to play. After much thought, I suddenly remembered the game I used to play when I was a young child and asked them if they knew how to make a crossbow. Nobody even heard of it, even my son. I then with the help of those kids, I finally made a crossbow, but it did not turn out to be correct, but I found it very difficult to make as I had forgotten how to make them.

Then through the suggestion of one of my friend, I browsed the above website and found to my joy plans to make a crossbow and after reading the details furnished in there, I made crossbows for the children, of course with them to help me. It is absolutely true that you get the satisfaction of achieving something big and huge, no matter how small or tiny the thing is. I saw the very same exhilaration in my son’s face when he made a crossbow on his own. Usually during all summer vacations, my dad used to take me and my brother Frank to some distant place, but this summer he told us we weren’t going to any place, but would have a small trip somewhere as my grandparents were coming to stay with us. At first, I didn’t like that idea so much, but I did not tell my father as I knew that would hurt him, but I found my grandfather to be a lively person, as he used to play with us, he knew so many things, and he taught us how to make medieval crossbow, which was something we enjoyed a lot.

My brother has three children-two sons and a daughter and all three are always full of activities. Both my children were quite thrilled when they came to know that their cousins were visiting for a week and asked me to get them something fun to do. I looked for a lot of do it yourself projects that would have helped them get rid of the boredom and I told them many choices but they were not really enthusiastic about it. Then finally I came up with a good idea. I told them that I was going to teach them to make a crossbow and would hold a competition and judge them based on which one looks and functions the best.

All five children loved the idea and were very intent. My wife thought that any one of the three boys would win but she was sure that our daughter and my brother’s daughter would give the guys a run for their money. I saw the kids practicing hard and I wanted to know the result too. After the competition, we were all surprised because the best crossbow belonged to my brother’s daughter and it functioned beautifully. I also looked good which was the icing in the cake.

Say, some decades ago, I would say that almost every child during their younger days would have played with crossbows and they would have, of course, enjoyed playing the game. But children living in cities, living in the big apartments, would not get a chance to play with crossbow because those children would often watch TV and outdoor activities would be less and they would spend more time on the computer playing games in them.
